It's a pillow, It's a pet....... It's a pillow pet

Earlier this week Sophia started noticing commercials on TV. I guess she has always noticed them, but this time she was saying mommy I want that. (dang commercials )  After recognizing the pillow pets from Ruby and Larkins birthday party of course she wanted one to.

I never understood the need for these kinds of toys, the pillow pets, the kids bop cd's where the kids sing songs that their parents listen to, you know the toys that sometimes make you wonder if people really buy them. Of course after I had Sophia it all made sense, watching her jam to the kids songs and craving her own pillow pet.

She does everything with her doggie now. (his name is doggie pillopet, yes all one word ) She watches movies with him, has tea parties with him, and even sleeps on him when it's bedtime. It's her new best friend, and really great to watch.

Sophia's Art

The best part about school on my side besides seeing how happy she is playing with other children. Is the beautiful artwork she brings home. We have decided to frame them and hang them up in her room and she loves seeing them before bed. To her they are like awards.

The bad part about school is sick kids. Sophia was diagnosed with croup yesterday at the doctors. She had a horse like cough and was miserable, couldn't sleep, barely was eating yesterday. The doctor gave her a steroid that at first sounded scary but when explained it would do no harm at all to her just stop the coup from getting worse.

Today is better, not perfect, but better. I really hope she gets back to her spunky self again soon. As a mother it's very hard to see your child in so much discomfort.

The Selvage queen

The Selvage queen, originally uploaded by sewfantastic2009.
Sophia loves her some fabric scraps. This was a day that they actually stayed in a pretty neat pile. Usually they are strung around the house in a matter no one quite understands.

Sometimes she takes the really long pieces and tries to get the cat to chase her, it usually works as she giggles all the way down the hall trying to keep the cat from getting her string. It's just routine now that when I cut fabric, I throw a little piece down where she sites so that she can enjoy the piece just as much as I do. I think I have a future fabric junkie in my midst.

Pink Worms

Sophia recently has discovered playdough, and although I swore I would never give her any. I kind of got suckered into it after her teacher at school let her make a mess with some. That was the end, she now knows how fun it is to mush that goey stuff between her fingers. I guess whatever makes her happy, makes me happy. And playdough makes her very HAPPY!

Gettin Dirty

Building something?, originally uploaded by sewfantastic2009.

I did it... I broke down and let Sophie go out and play. Not just play, but get dirty! She collected rocks and sticks, acorns and grass, all kids of things to add to her wheelbarrow.

It wasn't until she stood up and mommy just had to say, oh my look how dirty you are. She looked down at herself and began to cry. She hates being dirty so hopefully this will help break her of the fact that it will happen sometimes. When it does it's so much fun to.

Growing way to fast

These were taken on my phone on two seperate occasions.

Sophia is growing to fast. We just moved her into 24 months clothing, although she doesnt really fit into them that well yet she is to tall for the 18. Today we had luch together, just Sophie and mom. This was the first time that she didnt need me to peel the skin off of her grapes. It made me so sad, yet proud of her at the same time.

She has started learning her ABC's and 123's. We finally got her to eat normal food as well. Me and Dad removed all sugar snacks from the house on January first, in an effort to eat more healthy. Sophie is just fine with the nilla cookies thats the closest we get to cookies for now. All in all she really amazes me everyday, and I hope that I can keep up long enough to at least post about it for that day when she is older. That day when I read this blog and remember what a great kid she was, and is.

Caught!!

Ha! isn't this great. I love the little "o" Face. Boy she sure is a sneaky one, I had just bought these containers with locking lids not an hour before this happened. Looks like they are not child proof are they.

I have some photo's put into the wrong folders, somehow they all got mixed up. I do plan on catching up the blog though. Promise Grandma!!

Yesterday we made purse together. Sophie needed something in "her size" Wanna see what she puts it in when we go to the store.....

Isn't that cute. Her "Goggies" "Binki" and bracelets. She even tried to stuff a puppet in there, but it wouldn't fit.

New bed arrived

Our new memory foam bed arrived today. Me and daddy were having some serious back issues. After getting it out of the wrapping and putting aside the old sleep number bed pieces. We had a new bed! Yay. As you can see Sophie just wanted to play with the old one.
